The Milford Senior Center is a non-profit organization with the mission of servicing the community's senior population. The Center is currently 2500 members strong with a full range of activities and services.
We are seeking a full-time Executive Director with in-depth experience in managing a vibrant non-profit organization. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the strategic plan, programs, policies and on-going operations of the Center. The individual must exhibit strong leadership characteristics and dedication. They must be a passionate advocate for seniors and the Center's mission. The Executive Director is under the general supervision of the Milford Council on Aging Board of Directors.
Responsible for implementation of programs that carry out the Center’s mission.
Establishes and maintains relationships with various organizations within the Community and utilizes those relationships to strategically enhance the Center’s mission.
Represents the Center’s programs and point of view to the City of Milford, agencies, organizations, and the general public.
Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the Center. Submits to the Board of Directors and the City of Milford a proposed annual budget and provides monthly financial reporting.
Responsible for the effective administration of all Center operations.
Responsible for the hiring and retention of qualified, competent staff as well as staff supervision
Promotes active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the organization's work
Oversees marketing, communication and public relations efforts
Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Hands-on budget management skills, including budget preparation
Prefer seven to ten years’ experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity. Five to seven years of experience working directly with older adults and their families, or comparable combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field, such as, Psychology, Sociology, or Gerontology.
This position reports to the Kitchen Manager and will be responsible for the daily meal preparation of food and assist in the operations of the Mini-Lunch Program. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of food preparation (knife skills, use of commercial kitchen equipment, food temperatures, storage guidelines, and safety regulations) with proof of a valid certification in food safety. Work schedule is part time (25 hours per week) Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Candidate must be able to prepare and assist the Kitchen Manager in cooking foods on the daily menu. He/she will assist in the kitchen operations for all other responsibilities including serving, order entry, and maintaining kitchen equipment in accordance with the regulations of the Milford Health Department and Food Safety Guidelines. Candidate will be required to assume all responsibilities for the Kitchen Operations in the absence of the Kitchen Manager.
The candidate will require physical ability to stand long periods of time. Candidates must be able to read and follow directions in a self-directed team environment. Physical environment involves exposure to chemicals, cold and heat tolerance, and moderate noise from equipment. Candidates must be able to communicate, to respect, and to work with staff, volunteers, and members of the Milford Senior Center.
