Membership Mask-Wearing
Milford Senior CenterMembership Mask-Wearing
Unfortunately, it is that time of year in which we need to become more vigilant to the effects of colds, Flu and Covid within the community. As a result, effective Monday November 14th, members are being asked to wear a mask while attending any programs and activities, and while moving within the Center with the following exceptions:while seated having breakfast or lunchin spaces where there are fewer than 10 members in larger spaces (i.e. auditorium, large conference room, parquet room) and have ample spacing/ distance from one another.Members who are engaging in independent leisure activities (such as puzzles, reading, watching TV) are able to remove masks while alone. It should be noted that in larger attended programs and activities, the likelihood of contracting COVID, Flu or colds can increase. Members are instructed to wear a mask and keep distance from one another.
Instructors have been directed to open windows or doors to increase ventilation. Members needing to take a “mask break” should exit the building and/or relocate to spaces within the Center without others. Members will be asked to wear a mask while meeting with staff, volunteers or independent instructors and, to keep a reasonable distance from one another (min. 6 feet). As a reminder, some exercise-based classes continue to offer a virtual Zoom option for members.
No member should enter the Center while feeling ill, currently experiencing COVID, Flu or cold symptoms or have been recently told they have been exposed to someone with COVID. We ask members to return when feeling better.
Our goal is to minimize the probability of members, staff, volunteers and instructors becoming sick or ill. Although we cannot account for what each member, staff, volunteer or instructor does while not in the Center, we can attempt to lessen the effect of disruptions to the Center's operations by remaining vigilant and using the tools of Covid and Flu mitigation; mask wearing, hand washing, distance and access to vaccines. We recognize this can be very frustrating. However, we hope that you understand our current need for this temporary change for the sake of continuity of programs, activities and services at the Milford Senior Center. If you have any further questions, please contact us by phone at (203)877-5131.
Sincerely, Leonora C. Rodriguez
