What is a Respite Program?
A Respite Program offers various social supports in a safe group setting. They are designed for adults who don't require constant care in a nursing home or similar facility and can leave their homes to attend these centers.
While caregivers have time to work or run errands, participants at these programs engage in social and recreational activities. These activities help them stay connected to the world and people around them.
Individuals have the chance to meet and socialize with others while taking part in organized activities tailored to their interests and abilities. This encourages them to try new things and continue enjoying activities they've always liked.

What does a Respite Program do for Caregivers?
Lots of families take care of their older loved ones in their own home. Caregiving is rewarding. It can also be very time-consuming and demanding. It can wear caregivers down both physically and emotionally.
A Respite Day Program can help by providing valuable support to home caregivers, allowing them to take a much-needed break. This gives family members time to take care of their own personal needs.
The knowledgeable staff at the Ahrens Respite Program are available to listen, offer advice, and provide comfort to caregivers.
